Cricket
is a gentle, amiable mare who has taken time out to have a baby.
She
was started under saddle last summer and will begin training again as
soon as her colt is weaned this fall.
Cricket
is 14 hands but sturdy and strong and would make a great 4-H, trail,
or pleasure horse for a teenager, petite adult, or a family.
We
think she is half arab, half quarter horse. Of course that's just a
guess, but she has good conformation, excellent feet and is an easy
keeper. She has had no health problems during her time at Edensgate.
She trailers, is good with vet and farrier and up to date with vaccinations,
worming, and teeth. Cricket is fine with dogs, children and farm equipment.
She
came to Edensgate as a rescue and the foal was a suprise extra. A vet
estimated her year of birth as 2000 and thought this was her first foal,
but we do not know her prior history for sure. Although she was an excellent
mother, we would prefer a non-breeding home for her.
Her
sale price is $1,000 as of September, 2008 and will increase with training.
We will be checking references for prospective purchasers and will do
a site visit to ensure that Cricket will get off to a good start in
her new home.
You
can see Cricket's foal Kayo at the SAFE
website. He is available for adoption through the SAFE Assist Program.
